Zoe grew up going out to the Sir Edward Pellew Islands that scatter off the coast of Borroloola. Her family and she would spend weeks camping on the islands during the school holidays. They would go fishing every day, hunting for mud crabs, swimming (while being croc-wise), and eating the freshest seafood they could get.
